Help us Help Women Make a New Beginning
We are attempting to open up a half-way house for women who are trying to make a new beginning in their lives.
A house to give structure to women’s lives—A house as a place of hope for women in recovery.
We serve all women regardless of their religion,
ethnicity, sexual orientation or past.
Our Goal:
A house to give structure to women who are in recovery from alcohol and drugs. Without a secure place to stay, little else is possible.
Georgia's Friends aims to provide a supervised residential recovery house, a place of hope as women work to rebuild their lives. It will offer privacy as well as community support and independence.
Applicants will be pre-screened from those who have already begun their recovery in the Therapeutic Community Unit and the Pre-release Program at the local jail.
All the residents will be required to seek employment within two weeks of arrival and to contribute insofar as they are able to house upkeep and meal expenses.
As part of the recovery process, residents will attend weekly Twelve Step Recovery Meetings as well as classes on parenting, finances and anger management given by Region Ten, FOCUS and OAR.
